Trypanophobia Trypanophobia is an extreme fear of injections or hypodermic needles. I chose this theme to materialize a personal overcoming: during the pandemic, after watching hundreds of images of Covid-19 vaccination and wishing for my dose, I gradually became desensitized, and now i have a much softer fear of injections. The perception of danger resulting from a phobia is completely distorted, a fictitious threat. Just like this prickly creature, which only exists in my imagination. It involves a hypodermic needle, camouflaging this instrument that I can currently recognize as an object for healing and hope - the needle is the structure that supports the entire brooch. Materials: hypodermic needle, beetle wings, crab legs and cartilage, shells, epoxy resin, rubber and copper. Mixed techniques and electroforming.
